Rio 2 is the sequel to the 2011 computer animated movie Rio and the studio is first movie to have a sequel outside of their existing Ice Age franchise. The title refers to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, where the first movie was set and Rio 2 starts, though most of its plot occurs in the Amazon rainforest. Featuring the returning voices of Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro, will.i.am, Jamie Foxx, Jesse Eisenberg, George Lopez, Tracy Morgan, Jake T. Austin and Jemaine Clement.

The movie was released internationally on 20 March, 2014.
In American theaters on 11 April, 2014.
